From Barnala to Mumbai, Dhanveer Singh today is a self made man and a well known Radio Jockey at 92.7 BIG FM. Starting his career as TV news anchor, he is very passionate about his work. Know him more on this quick story where he talks about his upcoming projects, family, fitness mantra and much more…
How would you describe your journey on becoming a Radio Jockey?
I did not listen to radio earlier. I never planned on becoming an RJ. I had no idea about what to speak and how to speak on radio. I became an RJ after giving auditions. Before that, I used to work as a T.V news anchor for Zee Punjabi.
Tell us something about your family.
I come from Barnala. I am the youngest of all and also the most educated of all. My family is very loving and supporting, especially my mother. I was the closest to my mother but now, she is no more and I am working hard to live all her dreams.
Where did you pursue your education from?
I graduated from Patiala University. That institute gave me a lot of experience and education. Even today whenever I visit Patiala University, I bow my head in front of the institution. Apart from that, I completed my primary and secondary education from our village.
Who is your inspiration?
My mother is my greatest inspiration. She taught me how to become independent and disciplined in life. I give out all the success to my mother. She is the reason behind everything that I am doing today.
Tell us about your upcoming projects.
I have one music single video coming out for which I am getting trained from all the prominent singers from the industry. They are guiding me for the vocals. Also, I completed my graduation degree in music recently.
Who all are your friends from the industry?
The entire Punjab industry is close to me. Jasbir Jassi, Jassi Gill, Kajal Jain, Shruti Sodhi and so many more. I am friends with everyone from the industry.
How was your experience shooting the first music video?
I have just one music video out. It was not at all planned. Navaniat singh  wanted me to work with him on that video and nobody can refuse Navaniat so I did the video. The working experience with Jimmy was splendid. I learnt so much while shooting.
Tell us about the serials in which you’ve acted?
I did two Hindi serials so far i.e. Maharana Pratap on Sony and Ashoka Samrat on Colors. It was a different experience altogether and the atmosphere in T.V and films is way too distinct. I had a great time while shooting for both these serials. It was all a part of learning experience.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
I see myself as a successful artist. Not in terms of money but in experience. I want to do something for Punjab also. Punjab has given so much to me and I believe that I have to return more than that to my state. I also want to help the farmers. I think these are things which I will be doing after 5 years.
What is your fitness mantra?
I wake up at 5 AM every day. I would suggest everyone to sleep early and eat healthy. Try leaving junk and hog more of nutrients and minerals which is beneficial for the body.
In which gym do you go to?
I religiously go to Gold’s gym in Lokhandwala, Mumbai.
Any message for your fans.
Follow your heart and work hard. Be passionate and you will see your dreams coming true. I would suggest the youth to not indulge into drugs. Life is more than you see it.
