Want to do meaty roles : Darshan

Actor Darshan Zariwala always want to do roles that are meaty and challenging . “I love the characters that make audience attach to it and forget real me”, he stated while in Chandigarh to promote his new show ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi.Rani’ to be aired on Zee TV. He was accompanied by his co actor Moon banerrjee.
“Playing the character of Seth Govind Das was an offer I could not reject,” stated the actor who
has made his presence felt not only in theatre, daily soaps but also in films.

Explaining about his character the National Award winning actor said, “Das is a rich money lender to the Rajmata of Amerkot.  He not only enjoy the prestige of the royals but is so rich that he can buy all of them with his wealth. Also, in a society where sons are a favoured lot, this father dotes on his daughter. These two characteristics made it a sought after character for me.”
“Set in 1940’s the show is a love saga between a happy-go-lucky Prince turned a scarred war hero and a rich money lender’s daughter who carries her own baggage of being termed ‘unfortunate’ by society,” he added.

While Moon Banerrjee who returns back to TV after a three year hiatus, post her maternity break, is happy to play a mother first time on television.

Darshan did not forget to mention that to give the royal look to the show it has been shot in real palaces like in Bikaner and Baroda and now a spectacular set that has been made 45 km ahead of Mumbai. The lead is played by Siddarth Karnic and Drishti Dhami.
