‘Sam Bahadur’ as the name suggests is a biographical movie based on the life of
Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw, India’s first Field Marshal.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar who also co wrote along with Bhavani Iyer and
Shantanu Srivastava.
With Vicky Kaushal is in the lead, playing the role of Sam Manekshaw, he is
supported by Sanya Malhotra playing the role of Silloo Manekshaw (Sam’s wife),
Fatima Sana Shaikh as Indira Gandhi, Neeraj Kabi as Jawaharlal Nehru also seen in the movie are Edward Sonnenblick, Govind Namdev, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Naiyo, Ishida, Jaskaran Singh Gandhi, Bobby Arora, Rajiv Kachroo,Ed Robinson,Jeffrey, Goldberg and Krishnakant Singh Bundela.
The movie has a lot of memorable instances of Sam Manekshaw’s life as also the
historical facts of the time.
Though the movie faces a tough competition from Animal, being released simultaneously and which has also affected its box office collections, yet has made about 65 Crores in the first 15 days of it being released.
Vicky Kaushal’s powerful performance has made the movie memorable.
