Bhatti’s Short Film “The Story of A Story” wins prestigious International Award in USA
A short film ‘The Story of A Story’ that has been written by Late Jaspal Bhatti who was known for his unique satirical humor, has won the Founder’s Award for the best short film at the prestigious 12 years old, Riverside International Film Festival, California, USA. It is directed by his Jaspal’s filmmaker son Jasraj Singh Bhatti. “This seven minute creation is a visually seamless heart wrenching film on the commercialization of society. Through its storyline it conveys how emotions have taken a back seat in today’s commercial world,” he affirmed.
Feeling happy with the prestigious award Jasraj, CEO and Director of Mad Arts Jaspal Bhatti Film School stated, “It is a source of immense encouragement for all of us at Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti Film School, as our efforts to present Jaspal Bhatti’s story and vision on a global platform have been rewarded.”
“What makes this truly a remarkable achievement is the fact that this film has been created totally by our students and local talent of this region. This just proves that, if a film is made with a honest intention, powerful storyline and a well trained team, one can match global standards in film,” mentioned Surilie Jasraj Singh, head of administration & film festival coordination at Mad Arts.
The film was also nominated at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival. It stars Anoop Sharma, Savita Bhatti, Surilie Jasraj Singh, Brijesh Ahuja, Sachin Sharma, Mohit Khan and Harman Chopra.
Gaurav Malik has done the music for the film and the visual effects have been done by Nipun Sharma of Mad Arts. The film has been shot and edited at Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti Film School, Mohali.
