Review : MITTI NA PHAROL JOGIYA
MNPJ manage to steel hearts
Stories based on pre and post partition era seems to rule the trend in Punjabi industry now a days and the latest in the pipeline  is  ‘Mitti Na Pharol Jogia’. But this one seems  to be the finest among those that has  been released lately.  There might be certain loopholes but keeping in mind the story line, music and acting everything else could be ignored.
The film, produced by Ram Sidhu and directed by Avtar Singh, who had several years of Bollywood experience behind him, is a reality-based historical drama of post Indo-Pak partition politics during which a family is torn apart.
Starring young actor Japtej Singh (Bhag Milkha Bhag fame), the film is  a story of a 14 years old boy who crosses the border to get a rakhi tied by his sister but ends up in the police custody to be humiliated and tortured. The film which was shot largely in Amritsar invokes a true rural feel due to the location and the language that has been used. Japtej  managed to express all the expressions of happiness and fear. No doubt he is here to stay in the industry for long.
The film stars Kartar Cheema and actress Aman Grewal as the lead pair, but the real hero of the film is certainly  Japtej. Kartar and Aman justified the role of Sucha Singh and the Pakistani girl who stayed back and get married, respectively.  The music which is given by Desi Crew and Kannu Jimmy is also very soothing to ears and goes with the flow.
Not only this the film had already been praised by Anurag Basu and  acclaimed director Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra during a special screening.
The cast of the film also  includes Rupinder Rupi, Sanju Solanki, Razia Sukhbir, Damanpreet and Navdeep Kaler. Due to its strong story line it could be said that it is a full paisa vasool film and one must watch to feel what people had faced due to the partition.
