Rahul Mittra takes over as CEO of Wave Group’s Film Business
Originally from Chandigarh, Rahul had different stints as a journalist, corporate communication and brand management, as well as a filmmaker and producer of films like Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, Bullett Raja and Revolver Rani.
Founder of Brandsmith & Brandsmith Motion Pictures, Rahul is a well known name in the realm of media, film industry, government and the corporate world and has multiple awards for his innovative business practices and films to his credit.
According to industry sources that Mittra has been brought in to streamline the company’s movie business, apart from green lighting some big film projects and will directly report to Wave group Chairman Raju Chadha.
The move is being seen as a very significant one in Bollywood as Wave, unlike other major players, is the only film studio in India to have all three verticals–production, distribution & exhibition.
The Wave Group is a large business conglomerate with an impressive portfolio of businesses including sugar manufacturing, distilleries & breweries, real estate, malls & multiplexes, beverages, sports & entertainment.
