Actor Arya Babbar is totally amused by the mythological character Raavan. He feels that Raavan is a hero as he had real emotions and his behaviour was extreme. Justifying about him Arya said, “Any brother will get annoyed if his sister is insulted and is ready to take revenge. It was ditto for Raavan who was annoyed with lord Rama for insulting his sister. He shared his feelings about Raavan as he is playing this phenomenal character in his debut TV show ‘Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman’ that is being aired on Sony TV. Arya was in Chandigarh to promote his show.
“Raavan is one of the biggest and interesting character written in the universe. He was the most powerful and intelligent person of his time,” he stated and added, “Playing this character came with a big responsibility.
It is a larger than life character. Before started shooting I read a lot about him. Also worked on my body language as well as vocals along with process of approach for about two and a half month.”
Talking about his serial Arya said, “The director was going the way showing Raavan as an evil but when I asked them to show his positive side too they agreed.”
He also did not forget to mention about the challenges he faced during the shoot. “Playing such a difficult character with heavy costume has its own challenges, especially if the head-gear is as heavy as five-kilos. The prop is clipped to my hair, a process that takes him 45 minutes. But looking at the brighter aspect of it I have no option but take it with a smile or at least try. But I won’t deny it can get daunting at times and really painful. But am not complaining because a true actor is defined by the roles he plays and the challenges that he overcomes,” he affirmed.

Other than this he will be seen in two Hindi films ‘Bangistan’ along with Ritesh Deshmukh and Jackline Fernandus and ‘Chalk & Duster’ with Juhi Chawla and Shabana Azmi. He had also signed a Punjabi film in which he will be seen sharing screen with his dad Raj Babbar. He is also working on his second book that will be out on shelves soon.
