khan (2) (200x300)

Actor Ayub Khan who always wanted to be an air force pilot is now  busy doing paragliding and  flying lessons along with the shooting of his ongoing serial  ‘Phir Bhi Na Maane… Badtameez Dil’  that is currently being telecast on Star Plus. He shared his thoughts and likes with the Pollywoodboxoffice.com while  in Chandigarh to promote his show. “Nothing is planned in the television industry and we are always on toes. Thus post the monsoon season, I will resume my flying lessons and will be applying for an advanced course to get my pilot licence,” he mentioned.

“My dream was to become the Air Force pilot but my mother wanted me to become an actor. To pursue my dream I left my place and went to Jaipur and learnt making silver jewelry. But as it is said that destiny plays an important role in shaping up the career I was destined to be an actor but landed back to city of dreams soon,” nephew of veteran  actor Dilip Kumar said.

While talking about the show and his journey on films and television he lamented, “I play the role of Kuber Malhotra, a self-made businessperson and father to Abeer Malhotra. Its a musical show and all songs used are originally written for the show. It is a journey of a boy who wants to take up music as a career, but I as his father, am not quite happy with his decision.”

Ayub who started his filmi career with ‘Salami’ have featured in films like ‘Dil Chahata Hai’, ‘Lajja’ and many more also starred in television shows like ‘Uttaran’ and ‘Ek Haseena Thi,’ said that his role in Phir Bhi Na Maane… Badtameez Dil is quite a deviation form the roles he has been doing so far, especially the negative roles.

Comparing about the films and television the actor said, “I feel that television is still restricted to family viewing while the youngsters are private people. Thanks to internet they are aware of everything and avoid watching it with their families,” and added, “While in movies one can remember the best scenes ever but it is not same for TV.” The major challenge for a television actor is to perform each day without being able to go back and reflect on their work. One does not get that much time to watch what you have done. As TV actors we stand dictated by the market, which keeps us on the toes and leave with no episode banks.”

On being asked what he loves watching Ayub averted, “I like watching news and informative channels in comparison to serials.”
