Flying Sikh releases music of MNPJ
Flying Sikh Milkha Singh released the music of Punjabi film Mitti Na Pharol Jogia (MNPJ) in Chandigarh on Friday.
Along with him those who were present on the occasion included actor Kartar Cheema, Aman Grewal, Japtej Singh, director Avtar Singh who had worked as the production head for Bollywood film Barfi with Anurag Basu and producer Ram Sidhu.
”The film is based on the true story of a family that was torn apart in 1947 due to Mudh Baseba agreement which was a part of that politics due to which India-Pakistan parted away,” Avtar stated and added,”It was Anurag Basu who actually mentored me for this project as he was sure that this will make an emotional connect with the audience.
Cheema and Grewal plays the role of Punjabi and Muslim protagonist, respectively. They are separated due to the politics of that time. The girl is forced to go back to Pakistan while boy gets married in his cast back home. Later on when their son, the role played by Japtej (known as junior Milkha Singh) came to know that he has a sister in Pakistan he decided to visit them and the story goes on.
The music has been composed by Desi Crew and Kannu Jimmy and Surjit Pattar while Shabdeesh, Bakhtabar Miyan, Bunty Bains,Happy Raikoti, Bachan Bedil and Vinder Nathu Mazra are lyricists. Singers Kamal Khan, kaur B, Javed Bashir, Nachattar Gill, Yaqoob Gill, Davinder Pal and Surjeet Khan have lend their voices to the different sad, romantic and dance numbers of the film. The film produced by Ram Sidhu is slated to release on May 8.
