“Singing is my passion but due to family constraint I was never able to make it my profession. I use to write lyrics for other singers but now I am here in front of you,” this is how debutante singer Maninder Brar introduced himself to Pollywoodboxoffice.com. He was in Chandigarh on Wednesday to launch his first album ‘Chhadeyan Da Band’ along with music director Jaison Thind. It was released by singer-actor Sherry Mann.

“I belong to the family of bureaucrats and my parents wanted me to become an IAS officer. For this I also cleared the preliminary  exam but left everything and shifted to Australia for higher studies,” he stated and added, “It is only after my marriage that my wife inspired me to revive my first love.”

Brar who hails from Bathinda is currently into trucking business back in Australia. While in college he was active in theater and poetical recitation and had randomly took training in music from Tralochan and Jasan Thind.

Talking about his album Brar said that it includes eight songs which is a  combination of Punjabi folk and rock music. It is released by  Mohali based music company Virk Records.

The songs have been penned by lyricist Raju Cheema along with Brar himself. Other than the title track Chhadeyan Da Band Bajda, the album comprises of songs like Meri Mann Na Zidd, Jutti Te Yaad, Kaside Kutdi, 5911 Warga Munda, Jis Khidki Wich, Balle O Drivera and Ni Main Aa Gaya Clubon Tight Hoke. The videography has been done by Shanty Kanwar.

On being asked that in the era of single tracks why he have come with full-fledged    music album Brar explained that the real music lovers still prefer to listen to a CD in their car and moreover he wanted the audience to listen all his lyrics.

Praising about the album Sherry Mann’s  said that the music has been composed keeping in view the modern choice of the listeners and he believes that all songs will make a place for themselves from a wedding function to a club’s dance floor and would drive the listeners to shake a leg.
