Mohit Suri starts work on Ekta Kapoor’s Half Girlfriend !
Hitmaker Mohit Suri ,best known for his blockbusters Murder2, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, is going all out to start work on Balaji Motion Pictures’ Half Girlfriend ,based on Chetan Bhagat’s hit novel.
Producer Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri who struck gold with the 100 crore-“Ek Villain” team up again, after their colossal hit, this time with celebrated author, Chetan Bhagat, of “5 Point Someone” and “2 States”fame.
Based on the love that a non English-speaking Bihari boy Madhav has for an English-speaking Riya, the interestingly titled film talks of changing modern relationships.
If sources are to be believed, now that Suri’s Hamari Adhuri Kahani has released successfully in theatres, the director has thrown himself into Half Girlfriend and is going all out to start work on the young, commercial love story.
The film which has been in the limelight ever since its announcement, is already becoming one to watch out for in 2016, given that it marks the coming together of 3 powerhouses – Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri, known best for making love stories for the masses and Chetan Bhagat, who has become a household name with Nach Baliye.
While the makers remain tight-lipped at the moment, the script of Half Girlfriend is almost completely developed and the casting for the film is already in process.
