Leather-LIFE-punjabi-movie-2014 (400x267)

After a long time Punjabi cinema has seen a movie that left its mark on people’s mind. ‘Leather Life’ that released this Friday though had faced lots of difficulties due to the censor board but still managed to see the light of the day.

Directed by Sukhbir Singh and produced by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, it is a story of a boy who was compelled to be a part of anti- government movement in Punjab during 1984-1990. The film shows how he and people around him get affected by fate and face police atrocities.
The subject of the film is very impressive and the actors too left the impression with their wonderful performances. The locations do match the script.
Aman Dhaliwal who plays the role of Gurdas, the protagonist, with his strong acting skills make us feel that the things are happening with us and not him alone. He suited in the role of a lover boy as well as the angry young man who is forced to fight for his right.
Himanshi Khurrana, who plays the love interest of the hero is a daughter of a politician who hates Gurdas and is somehow involved in creating such circumstances for him.
Tejwant kittu created  wonderful songs that do go along with the situation well be it sad song or romantic song. Shooting has been done in parts near Morinda and Kashmir.
The film also stars Om Puri, Deep Brar, Ericka Virk, Karamjit Anmol, Harinder Bhullar, Simran Sehjpal, Gurinder Makhna, Tarlochan Singh, Narinder Nina and Prince KJ Singh who has also penned the script. All the actors, whether in small roles, played their part well and seems their absence would have changed the story of the film. The film has been co-produced by Balbir Kaur and its worth watching atleast once as it makes us realize what people mite have faced during those days when few of us were not even born.  Though film had been given the ‘A’ certificate by the censor board but after watching it, it seems that if even doesn’t require U/A certificate though there are some violence scenes but  still its a normal film.
