International Women’s day : Pledge for Parity with Reetika Singh
Born on 18th June 1982 at Hoshiarpur in Punjab, Reetika Singh is a very well known educationist. Reetika did her schooling from the prestigious Lawrence School Sanawar as a meritorious student who excelled in academics, sports and co-curricular activities, representing the first co-educational school in the world on various platforms, including the IPSC (Indian Public School’s Conference). A go-getter that she has always been, Reetika won a lot of laurels and accolades for her performance in all fields. She then did her graduation with Honors in English from GCG – 11 (Govt. College for Girls, Sector 11), Chandigarh and topped the college in Honors. She did her LL.B. from the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Master’s in English and B.Ed., along with a number of courses in Guidance and Counseling. Reetika was the editor of Rotaract club of Chandigarh Midtown at the young age of 19 years, where she launched the newsletter and did a marvelous job to expand the reader base. She also anchored a show on television called “Gallan Kuchh Teriyaan Kuchh Meriyaan” on Alpha TV Punjabi and acted in Jaspal Bhatti’s famous show, “Professor Money Plant”.
Reetika began her professional career as a lawyer in the Punjab & Haryana High Court in the office of Senior Advocate Rajiv Atmaram, until she realized her passion for training and people management, for which she had great potential. Multifaceted and operationally sound, she became a National Head at a young age of 29 years for a Health and Wellness brand called Diet Mantra where she did exceedingly well. Diet Mantra was the official nutrition partner to Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012. Simultaneously she continued her passion for education and training, imparting expertise to a huge number of teachers across the Nation in managing students, work ethics, leadership, self grooming and personality development, besides counseling students and their parents.
An avid writer, Reetika writes for an International website called www.articlesbase.com and is an extremely popular speaker for imparting guest lectures and a well known Life Skills trainer. In her last assignment, Reetika was highly instrumental in setting the first International Baccalaureate School in the tricity called Oakridge International School, Mohali where she was heading Admissions, Parent Relations, events and Marketing.
Reetika was the Vice Principal with Ashiana Public School, Chandigarh, also imparting Life Skills training to students and counseling children and their parents. She is currently working as the Principal of Hopper International Smart School, Kharar and is penning her first book as an author, which is likely to hit the stands soon. She is a popular choice for judging student events and is often invited by schools to impart her fair judgement. When asked about the motto that drives her, she says her school motto, “Never Give In” keeps her going along with her never say die attitude.
