Kamaljit Kaur Vaid has been in the teaching profession for the last 27 years and has been serving as the Principal of Shaheed-E-Azam Sukhdev Thapar Sen. Sec. School for Girls, Ludhiana, Punjab for the last 15 years. Before being promoted as the Principal she served as a Punjabi lecturer for 12years.  She was conferred with the State Award in the year 2005 by the Education Dept. By Ex- Education Minister of Punjab Sh. Harnam Das Johar for her contribution towards educating girl child. For her exuberant performance in the field of education she won the National Award for Best Teacher in the year 2011 by the HRD Ministry and was conferred by Hon’ble Ex-President Kumari Pratibha Patil in Delhi.
She is equally active in various social services and is part of Red Cross Society Punjab and has been raising maximum funds for the Red Cross Society for which she was Nominated as the Executive Member of Punjab Red Cross Society by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and was Honoured twice by the Hon’ble Governor for the same in the year 2009 and 2010.
Besides this she is an avid writer and her articles on social evils such as female foeticide, education to girl child and economically weaker section of society, environment, moral values etc. have been published in various local newspapers
