International Women’s Day: Pledge for Parity with Dr. Aditi Parag Sawant
Dr. Aditi Parag Sawant:
Pollywoodboxoffice.com is celebrating International Women’s Day by honouring women and their dedication, sacrifice and selfless service not just towards their own families but towards society and nation.
Dr Prof. Aditi Parag Sawant is a professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Economics at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Apart from her regular work of teaching , she has undertaken University Grant Commission’s Major Research Project on the Cotton Growers Issue in Maharashtra and testing India’s competitiveness in the international market.
Apart from that she is journalist and has written and spearheaded various social issues and actively working on it. Last year, she took up a project of cleaning the drainage and sewage system of totally abandoned building in her neighbourhood and worked on it hard and changed the total look of the building to relieve the people staying in the building in a pathetic condition almost more than a 3 years.
This 26th January, she took her college students to BMC Maternity Hospital, Mulund and cleaned outer as well as inside premises including toilets, fans, and windows. The hospital staff was overwhelmed with the dedication and students also learnt that selfless service towards society is really required.
