Cricket is no doubt one of the favourite sport globally but nevertheless football too has a great no of fans all over. And to promote this game Sarao films has taken the initiative with their film Gun and Goal that releases on April 3 .
The star cast of the film including Sumeet Sarao, Rishita Monga, Mukesh Tiwari and Sardar sohi along with director Simranjit reached Chandigarh press club on Wednesday to promote it.
Penned by Surmeet Maavi, the film is based on a footballers life and the circumstances he had to face to reach and stay at top.
Talking to Pollywoodboxoffice.com Simranjit said that the film is not inspired by any footballer but one would easily be able to relate with it and feel its happening with them or their friends. On being asked why they choose football as a subject as many of the bollywood films based on this game flopped, he affirmed that there are number of games to be promoted in the country but it is the second most loved game after cricket and hope people will enjoy it.
Actor Mukesh Tiwari, who has done number of bollywood film, said that he dos’nt know Punjabi but he liked the script so much that he was unable to refuse it. “Language is not a bar for any of the actor if the script is strong,” he mentioned and added that he is playing a grey shade in the film which turns to be positive with the entry of the protagonist.
Sardar Sohi plays the role of corrupt politician in the film. “Story is a crisp and says a lot in a short while. The audience will not only carry home a message but also a thought for their life,” he said.
Sumeet, who is debuting with the movie said that he is not a sportsperson and never played any of the games in his school and college days. But when he was offered this film he learnt the game for two months from Ali Hassan at Mallpur in Punjab. “I did a lot of research before the shoot and inclined myself more and more into the character,” he exclaimed.
Two film old actor Rishta plays the role of Kajal who carries lots of shades the film as she says that her entry changes the life of the hero.
The film has been shot in beautiful locales of Punjab and Mumbai. Music has been composed by Jaggi Singh, Santokh Singh, Onkar Singh and Vivek Kar while lyrics have been penned down by Kumaar, Santokh Singh, Simranjit S Hundal and Rajveer Bawa. Meet Brothers, Jaggi Singh, Sonu Kakkar, Santokh Singh, Neha Kakkar, Mohd Ifran, Shhid Malya and Sordee Boram have lend their voices.
