From Parvati to Daayan – Pooja Banerjee turns negative on Zee TV’s Qubool Hai
Zee TV’s immensely popular show Qubool Hai has managed to engage its viewers with all kinds of unexpected twists and turns all through its glorious run of more than 600 episodes. The show will take you on a rollercoaster ride and keep you on the edge of your seats with the entry of popular TV actor Pooja Banerjee who has won over audiences with her portrayal of Goddess Parvati in her previous mythological show. In stark contrast to that image, the actor will be seen portraying a dark character called Afreen with supernatural powers.
The show which features Surbhi Jyoti as Mahira and Rajbeer Singh as Azaad will see an all-new track unfold with the entry of the gorgeous actor in her new avataar. Apart from the vamp of the show Khan Begum played by Additi Gupta who has taken it upon herself to brew trouble in leading lady Mahira’s life, Pooja’s character Afreen will enter the show and reveal her true identity as Azaad’s first wife who has supernatural powers.
Pooja says “I am experimenting with a new character and its very challenging because people know me as a good and a positive person. So if I have to now play a character with shades of grey, I really have to push the envelope. I don’t even look like a vamp (laughs) so I will have to put more effort to make my overall character look negative. But that’s an actors job to play each part convincingly and make it look effortless. So this is one such character that will prove my versatility as an actor and I hope I do justice to it.”
In the upcoming episode, Mahira and Azaad’s marriage will not be a bed of roses considering the presence of the all-powerful Afreen who claims to be his first wife. Afreen will also be seen taking on Khan Begum as her opponent in the quest of becoming the most powerful member in the Khan Household. Will Mahira as a pure soul be able to fight against Afreen to foil her devious plans and save her husband from the evil forces?
