Famous script writer Rajesh Berry who left engineering to pursue his dream of writing is all set with his script that is based on a real story of Sarabjit Singh who was killed in Kot Lakhpat jail of Lahore. “This is my film and I had done lots of homework so that justice could be done,” he told Pollywoodboxoffice.com in an exclusive interview.
“The film is not just about a single prisoner stuck in Pakistan but all others too who are still being tortured their. Just like Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit’s sister, who fought to get back her brother though he died their only, it may inspire others too raise their voice,” Rajesh mentioned and added, “I stayed with Dalbir ji and Sarabjit’s children for about two years to understand their state of mind before penning down the story. People would realise what all she had gone through all these years. She is inspiration to many as she spoiled her married life to raise her brother’s children and get justice to them. In today’s world who cares so much.”
On being asked why he chose such a sensitive issue, the holder of Limca Book of Records stated, “I felt that it was my moral duty towards the society which made me took the subject. After watching the film if any single prisoner gets free from Pakistan it would be my success.”
