You have worked with Salman Khan in Sultan. How was your working experience with him on-field?
I think he is very friendly. He talks with everyone on set. In fact, he is so down-to-earth that you wouldn’t come to know that he is a big super star. I have worked with him earlier in Hero, London Dreams and now I have worked with him in Sultan. He is one of the best person a real Gem I know from the industry.
How was your bonding with Yash Raj Chopra since you have worked with him in Veer Zaara?
Yash Raj Ji was a different person. He breathed life in his own way. His concepts were unique and he tried gathering everyone in unison. It was a big and memorable experience working with him.
You are into the film industry from very long time now. How would you describe this journey as?
I worked previously as a theatre artist in Chandigarh. I have also acted in serials initially when my acting career kick started. I got my biggest break in Veer Zaara when Yash Raj Ji gave me a chance. And my journey began from there on. This entire journey leaves me spell bound. I took the right decision of my life when I aspired to become an actor.
You have worked in Punjabi films, Bollywood and Hollywood as well. How do you think these 3 industries are different from each other?
If I have to compare these 3 industries then I would say that they are very different from each other. Like Hollywood is diehard particular and disciplined. Mostly because of the reason that they work on high budgets. Also, they are very passionate about films. But Bollywood and Pollywood are different entirely. We have constricted budgets and honestly, there were times when I faced bad experiences on-field.

With the kind of Punjabi films releasing every year. Are you satisfied with the production of Punjabi films today?
Punjabi films have come so far but I believe that the audience has to grow. There are so many Punjabi films made every year but only few work on the box office. And this has to change. People should watch more Punjabi films in the theatre and appreciate it. We have a long way to go.
What are your views on the entire Udta Punjab controversy?
See, I did not like the title of the film. The highest producer of food grains in India is Punjab. Only because of few People indulged in drugs, why would you take the name of an entire state? Don’t blame Punjab for drugs. The state doesn’t have a role to play into it but individuals have. Also, I am hurt with the kind of abuses used in the film. I don’t agree with the title of the film at all.
On a lighter note, tell us about your hobbies.
Well, I like writing when I am free. I also like listening to good music (old songs).
Who is your role model in life?
When I was young, I watched Dharmendra Paaji a lot. Looking at him, I got my inspiration to appear on silver screen. Later, I met Yash Raj ji and he also inspired me a lot with his perspectives about love and romance.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Well, I want to take my business more ahead and produce more films in the years to come. And rest all depends on where God wants me to go.
Are you associated with any NGO?
Frankly , I do not believe in NGO’s. I randomly help people when I see them in grave situations. I will donate money to a person instantly if I see that he/she needs my help. He Signs off !!
