‘Kingfisher Ultra Chandigarh Style Week’ wraps up in vogue
The grand finale of the second edition of ‘Kingfisher Ultra Chandigarh Style Week’ that ended on Sunday, witnessed a mélange of innovative contemporary silhouettes and rich traditional designs by designer label Red Sister Blue, Ritu Kolentine and Sanjana Jon.
Red Sister Blue opened the show with a high dose of traditional khadi and handcrafted fabric paired with stylish western. The ex-Kingfisher Calendar Model Satarupa Pyne walked as a show stopper for the same.
The energy turned intense with an exclusive showcase by hair and make-up expert Ritu Kolentine. She left the crowd mesmerized with her “Dreams to Fly” theme personifying the powerful fearless women. The stunning models displayed the latest beauty trends gracefully. Bollywood actress Mahek Chahal sashayed the ramp for her.
Ritu, a trained Beauty professional from U.S, said, “Woman who dare to dream and then get empowered to bring that dream to life are truly an inspiration. Through my show I tried to pay tribute to all those women who are inspiring others with their beauty and courage.”
It was a riot of art and colour on the ramp as ace designer Sanjana Jon brought curtains down to the show. Her collection revolved around the virtuous theme of women empowerment and was a humble initiative towards spreading the message of saving the girl child. The spectators were left astounded by the posse of bright colours and gold used to celebrate women. A band of prominent personalities including Bollywood actor Ashmit Patel , former Big Boss contestant Claudia Ciesla, actor Yograj Singh and director Rohit Jugraj and many others came together to support the cause ‘save the girl child’.
