Punjabi singer commits suicide
Dharampreet alias Bhupinder Dharma, well known singer famous in the Malwa region of Punjab, was found dead at his house in Bhatinda last night.
His death came as a shock for the music industry. Born in Bilaspur town near Moga in Punjab Dharampreet has entered the industry in 1993 with his album ‘Khatra Hai Sohneye Nu’. Later his album ‘Dil Naal Khed di Rahi’ released in 1997 made him a star overnight. The popularity increased with his later albums ‘Ajj Sada Dil Torh ta’, ‘Aaina Kade Vi Nahi Roya’ and ‘Parh Satguru Di Bani’ (religious) and there was no looking back.
Dharampreet was mostly known for sad songs. He had also sang couple of duet songs with Miss Pooja.
The news of his committing suicide became viral on social media. Sources claimed that Dharampreet was under depression due to downfall in his career so he took the hard step and hanged himself to the ceiling in his home. Though officially the reason for his death was not known till the filing of the story.
He is survived by his wife and children.
