Review : GADDAR The Traitor
The team of Harbhajan Mann and Amitaj Mann always tries to give their best to the Punjabi cinema. And this time they have presented something new with ‘Gadaar- The Traitor’. Written and directed by Amitoj Mann it is Punjabi cinema’s first suspense emotional thriller. Harbhajan, who looks different in the first part of the movie, plays a business tycoon living in Canada with his business spread all over the world. He loves to live life on the edge but his past keeps haunting him. Amitoj tried to present a different story with a wonderful treatment given to it that has never been seen in any of the Punjabi film though it leaves certain question marks in the mind of audience. Soon after it takes us in the past which tells us what is haunting Harbhajan Mann and why he is given the title of Gadaar back home. The film begins with a mystery but gets unfolded very soon and the protagonist gets behind him to take revenge with the help of a pretty secret agent who is otherwise employed by the government of Canada but seems to only work for him in the later half.
The camera work as well as graphic work is lovely. Harbhajan who plays a very different role kind of role for the first time had worked really hard on his acting skill as well as his physique.
The film has been produced by Unisys Infosolutions & Grandsons Films . Apart from Harbhajan & Manpneet Grewal the star cast of the film includes Ashish Duggal, Girja Shankar, Shavinder Mahal, Rupinder Roopi, Anita Meet, Tarsem Paul, Balkaran Wadding, Malkit Singh Malanga and Bobby Sandhu who played their part well.
The songs are wonderful, moreover fans of Harbhajan will enjoy his voice too. It has been shot at picturesque locales of Punjab, Mumbai, Goa and Toronto. For a change the film is worth watching atleast once.
