Actor-Singer sister come up with band “Sufi Sparrows”

Many few people are god gifted. And among them stands Roop and Dolly Sidhu, one is actor and the other is born singer. Hailing from Ferozpur the two of them recently shifted to Mumbai. Now they have come together to launch their band named Sufi Sparrows under music company Acme Muzic. Impressed by their performances well known artist career designer Anup Kumar has signed them up for his music company along with the well know group ‘Mafia Mundeer Boys’.

Elder sister Roop started her acting career with Gurdas Mann in Punjabi movie “Mini Punjab”. She later ventured into television with the serial ‘Bhasker Bharti’,  ‘Shani Dev’, ‘Armaanon Ka Balidaan – Aarakshan’ based on the infamous Mandal Commission violence and .’Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat’.

According to Roop she never got any training in singing or acting and has learnt the same from her mother and sister. “My mother is a very good singer. Though she was not able to make her career in singing she helped us learn the same. I started acting and Dolly started singing,” she affirmed and added, “When I got the chance to act my dad was bit upset but later on got agreed on my decision.” Roop stated that now her full focus will be on singing until she gets a very attractive character to act.

While on other hand younger sister Dolly already has under her credit Bollywood and Pollywood songs. She got the chance to sing for the title track of Salmaan Khan starrer Bodyguard. Other than this she had to her credit  title track of the movie ‘Jatt Airways’ sung with Master Saleem, she sang “Lohri Di Raat” with Sukhwinder Singh in Kaafila’, ‘Berukh Berukh Ho Gei Zindgi, Berukh Ho Geia Pyar Ve’ with Kuldeep Raseela in the album ‘Mela’, ‘Phull Kandya Ch Khildey Ne’ with Surjit Khan, ‘Kajle wale nain’ with Davinder Kohinoor and ‘Tere Te Dil Saada Lutteya Gaya’  with Kamal Khan and Mangi Mahal.

 

Reminiscing about her love for music Dolly said that she loved music ever since she was born. Her parents soon realized their daughters  talent  and allowed her to perform on stage. “In between awards came my way and thereafter started taking the profession seriously. Professionally I started singing at the age of  11. My first track was “Mela”, the title song of the album by the same name, with Kuldeep Rasila. For that I was nominated for best song in duet category. Thereafter, no looking back for me,” she stated.

One of their song has also been released by the Acme Muzic on their channel.

Want to promote talent :Anup

Known for promoting and launching various artists Anup Kumar, producer of Acme Muzic, while sharing about his plans for the ‘Sufi Sparrows’ said the two sisters are very talented. His company is always ready to promote talent. It was only him who introduced the audience with Honey Singh, Alfaaz, Money Aujla and many more. The popular band ‘Mafia Mundeer Boys’ is his creation only. The band that started with Money Aujla, Alfaaz and Leo now has three more entries Bhinder Aujla, Lill Golu and SB Haryanv making it a group of six.

“I would like to promote them as a first of its kind classy women’s Sufi band which will set the stage and reputed clubs and lounges across the country on fire with its scintillating shows,” he stated. All the Mundeer Boys also wished luck to the two girls and hope to perform duet with them.
