Chandigarh, August 24, 2026: Professional wrestling in India could be heading toward a major transformation, with PWR (Pro Wrestling Rebellion) stepping up efforts to create a more organised and internationally competitive platform for the sport.

At a press conference held at the Chandigarh Press Club on Monday, star wrestler Jeet Rama, also known as Satender Dagar, who has represented India in WWE NXT, said that professional wrestling has a massive fan base in the country. According to him, nearly 330 million people in India follow or enjoy professional wrestling, yet the sport has not received a platform on the scale of international wrestling promotions.

PWR aims to address this gap by developing a structured professional wrestling ecosystem in India and bringing both Indian and international wrestlers in front of Indian audiences.

PWR Aims to Build a Stronger Wrestling Platform

Speaking about the initiative, Jeet Rama said India has no shortage of wrestling talent. The bigger challenge, he suggested, is providing emerging wrestlers with the right platform, exposure and opportunities to compete at a professional level.

PWR plans to organise wrestling events featuring talent from India as well as international performers. The broader objective is to make professional wrestling more accessible to Indian audiences while creating opportunities for homegrown wrestlers to develop their careers.

The promotion also sees professional wrestling as more than entertainment, with the potential to grow into a wider sports and entertainment industry in India.

‘Road to Kranti’ Coming to Ludhiana on August 29

The next major step in PWR’s campaign will be the ‘Road to Kranti’ live professional wrestling event in Ludhiana on August 29.

The event will take place at Dhandra Village in Ludhiana, beginning at 7 PM. Organisers have announced that entry for spectators will be free.

‘PWR KRANTI’ Mega Event Set for Delhi

The organisers have indicated that the Delhi event will feature professional wrestlers from India and other parts of the world.

Through KRANTI, PWR intends to create greater visibility for Indian wrestling talent while attracting audiences to professionally produced wrestling events.

Focus on New Wrestling Talent

One of the key objectives behind the PWR initiative is to provide opportunities to emerging wrestlers.
