Sunita Williams: Highlights from Her Mission and Anticipated Return on March 19<\/h1>

Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams, along with her crewmate Barry “Butch” Wilmore, is set to return to Earth on\u00a0March 19, 2025<\/strong>, after an extended mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). <\/p>

Originally planned as a short-term trip, their mission was extended due to technical issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.<\/p>

Mission Highlights: Scientific Endeavors and Spacewalks<\/h2>

During their extended stay, Williams and Wilmore made remarkable contributions to space research. One of the mission’s highlights was a 5-hour 26-minute spacewalk<\/strong> to replace a faulty radio unit. This marked Sunita Williams’ ninth spacewalk<\/strong>, bringing her total extravehicular activity (EVA) time to 62 hours and 6 minutes<\/strong>, a record for female astronauts.<\/p>
