While the buzz round the \u00a0fans of Aashiqui series are rejoicing for the past few weeks about the development with Aashiqui 3, \u00a0the producer-director Mahesh Bhatt gives a rather surprising and contradictory statement about the developments. Buzz was that Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra have been roped in to play the leads in third entry of the romantic musical franchise. Fans were ecstatic over the news. This came after the casting had gone through major changes already, with Hrithik Roshan opting out initially. Mahesh\u2019s latest statment brings the casting scene back to square one.<\/span><\/p>\n

While talking to a leading tabloid, Mahesh denied being done with the casting of the film. \u201cWe are nowhere close to seriously talking about it. Let\u2019s see where we go. Whether Alia will star in it, or someone else will, is something we will answer later\u201d he said. \u201cIf I don\u2019t bring something new to Alia, then why should she do the film? I don\u2019t use my children as my meal ticket. Also, I have an aversion to stars,\u201d he further added.<\/p>\n

This statement contradicts all the news around the casting that had been doing rounds over the time. The entire casting saga of Aashiqui 3 is becoming more and more confusing with every passing month. What in the world is happening with the casting of this film?<\/p>\n

Back in May, while talking to a leading tabloid Sidharth had said, \u201cYes, Alia and I are doing Aashiqui 3. It\u2019s a great space and I hope people like us.\u201d Which contradicts with the news that Mahesh brings. In the same interview the actor also talked about wanting to train in singing, for the film.<\/p>\n

Also in May, producer Mukesh Bhatt had also confirmed casting Alia and Sid, as reported by IANS. \u201cYes, it is true. We have signed Sidharth and Alia for the film. They completely fit the role. When we make films we look for the perfect casting. They both fit the bill,\u201d Bhatt told a news portal.\u201d he had said. Can we please oh please get a final take on everything?<\/p>\n

Back in March, Alia Bhatt had denied reports claiming that she has been cast for third installment Aashiqui. There were rumours that the 23-year-old actress, who made her debut with Karan Johar\u2019s Student of the Year, will finally work with his father Mahesh Bhatt\u2019s banner in the third instalment of Aashiqui film series. \u201cIn my knowledge no Aashiqui 3 is happening right now. I am not offered anything like that,\u201d Alia told reporters while promoting her film Kapoor & Sons at an event.<\/p>\n

Aashiqui films are heavily dependant on music and songs. Alia Bhatt would have been a perfect choice for the role of a singer as she herself has a melodious voice. She has sung songs for her films \u2013 Sooha Sooha for Highway and Main Tenu Samjhawan for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.<\/p>\n
